Dental claim settlement - Lingual nerve injury during root canal treatment
A great result today for a Cheshire based dental claim client. £13,600 in settlement for causing parasthesia during RCT.
My client underwent RCT to LL7 with his dentist, who, whilst carrying out RCT injected local anaesthetic past the apex of the LL7 causing a lingual nerve injury - neurapraxia. Some of the allegations of dental negligence in the letter of claim included:
A failure to take adequate xrays prior to the procedure;
A failure to note the proximity of the dental nerve to the LL7 tooth;
Failed to record any working length radiographs; and failed to refer.
Settlement was negotiated with the defence organisation out of Court.
